The facts pack does not give walking minutes or taxi fares for this stretch, so the honest guidance is a short taxi ride or a walk along the waterfront, and checking the distance with the port or your ship's port desk on the day.

Departure points at a glance

Three starting points matter on a cruise day. The Old Port handles the pirate ship, the wooden boat and the sunset cruise, and it is the closest to the cruise terminal and the old town. Corfu port itself is the departure point for the big shared Paxos and Parga cruise boats, which are the trips that do not fit a port day anyway.

Gouvia Marina, about 8 km north of Corfu Town, is the base for the sailing yacht and private yacht options, so those need a taxi transfer you must plan both ways.

For the Paleokastritsa speedboat you also need road time: Alipa Port at Paleokastritsa is about 25 km and roughly 40 minutes from Corfu Town by road. That is 80 minutes of travel around a 2-hour trip, which is why it only works on the longer port calls.

Work backwards. Take your ship's all-aboard time, subtract your return buffer, then subtract the road or walking time back from the dock to the terminal. What is left is the maximum trip length you can safely book, plus a margin for the operator's own check-in window.

The morning 10:00 to 14:00 or the 2.5 to 4 hour afternoon options are the ones that fit a port call, but remember Gouvia Marina is about 8 km north of Corfu Town, so taxi time both ways comes out of your buffer. Paleokastritsa caves speedboat

A 2-hour run from Alipa Port on the speedboat Gaia with a maximum of 9 guests, covering two sea caves and swims at Paradise Beach and Yali Beach. From $74 per person. It is the shortest swim trip that fits a long port day, but the trip needs 4 or more bookings to run and the road transfer adds about 40 minutes each way.

Every trip longer than about 5 hours is a poor fit for a cruise stop, and the reasons are all in the listings themselves. The full-day wooden boat cruise runs about 6.5 hours from the Old Port, which is a lovely day for someone sleeping on Corfu and a missed ship for a caller. The Paxos day cruise boards from 07:40 and sails at 08:20, often before a cruise ship has even cleared formalities, and the listing gives 7-12 hours door to door.

The Parga, Sivota and Blue Lagoon cruise is the longest day on the list at 10-12 hours. The semi-private Paxos speedboat runs 8 hours but starts at Lefkimmi Port in the far south, about an hour's drive from Corfu Town, with no pickup. And the Gouvia sailing trip runs 5-10 hours by option, which only fits on paper for the shortest slot.

It is a set of coves under cliffs on the northwest coast, about 25 km and roughly 40 minutes by road from Corfu Town, with sea caves reached only by boat. The honest math: about 40 minutes by road each way, plus a 10 to 20 minute early arrival at Alipa Port, around a 2-hour trip. On a 10-hour port call that works with a sensible buffer. On anything shorter it does not.
